Social Media Tips For Your Exhibition Marketing & Follow Up

Posted on: Thursday, 11 July 2019)

Social media is a tool that can enhance your exhibition strategy and propel your attendance and follow up to the next level of success.

There are many things you can do throughout the duration of your exhibition marketing to increase your social media presence and see better results from your exhibition marketing.

Before the Show

Hashtag on Twitter – either find the hashtag the exhibition has put out or create your own if there isn’t one already. Keep it simple, use your company name and follow with ‘at [the exhibition name]’.

Using this is a great way to engage with both potential attendees and other exhibitors. Starting conversations with likeminded people shows you’re happy talking to others, and builds anticipation regarding your attendance at the exhibition.

Event Pages – another good way to announce your attendance at the exhibition is to create an event page on social media. This allows other people to interact and share questions and discussions about the event, and build a hype around your company being there.

During the Show

Location and Looks – taking a photo of your stand and sharing this on social media with your stand number and location is a sure fire way to lead people easily to you.
The easier you make it for people to find you, the more chance there is they’ll visit, and social media has made this even easier for both exhibitor and attendee alike thanks to the mobile nature of social media.

Customer Testimonials – sharing testimonials or photos of other attendees throughout the exhibition, or the great reviews of your stand they give can all help build a positive image of your business on social media.

Make sure to use the hashtag for the event so even more attendees see this on their way around the venue.

Contests and Giveaways – if you’re holding a contest or giveaway to encourage people to interact with your stand, make sure you keep posting about this throughout the day. Building suspense is the best way to keep an audience interested!

After the Show

Follow Up – part of the process of following up your leads is interacting with them on social media. Connect with them on LinkedIn, follow them on Twitter or like their page on Facebook.

It can never hurt to send them a personal message or tweet to make sure they remember you, and that you’re at the forefront of their mind.

Carry on Posting – continue posting your photos from the event to keep the post-show discussion going. If anybody who spoke to you hasn’t managed to find you on social media yet, ensuring you’re still engaging with the exhibition social media is the best chance they have of doing this.

Make the most of your time at an exhibition and use the (often free!) tool that is social media. To find yourself a great exhibition stand worthy of being shared online, see what we can do for you at Custom Creative.
